How is forgiveness helpful?
Forgiveness brings you freedom. Free eBook
If you choose to forgive, you will benefit as much as everyone else around you. Whether you have others to forgive or yourself, this act frees you from the past and enables you to fulfill your true potential. Forgiveness allows you to break free from limiting beliefs and attitudes. Mental and emotional energy is released, which you can then use for a better life. Free eBook
Forgiveness helps you achieve even very practical and immediate goals. Maybe you want a better job, more money, better relationships, or a better place to live. Forgiveness will help you achieve all of this. As long as you have not forgiven, some of your inner life energy is stuck in anger, pain, or other forms of suffering. This trapped life energy will set you limits, similar to when you ride a bike with the brakes on all the time. This makes you slow, frustrated, and difficult to move forward.
The choices you make and what you think are possible will be influenced by the way in which you have not forgiven. As you learn to forgive, the energy of unhappy thoughts and feelings becomes free and can be used to create the life you want instead of limiting you or creating further suffering.
If you don't want to learn to forgive in order to benefit yourself, learn to forgive in order to benefit others. As you learn to forgive, you are doing good to everyone you come in contact with. You will think more clearly and positively than before. You will have more to give and more joy in sharing your gifts with others. You will become friendlier, more generous and more caring in an easy and natural way - without having to make an effort. Your attitudes towards the people in your life will become more positive and happier, and others will, in turn, respond more positively to you.
Is a forgiving person easier to deal with than an unforgiving one? Of course they are. A forgiving person is always more pleasant than an unforgiving one. Your quality of life depends on the quality of your relationships. All sides of your life will change for the better as you learn to forgive, whether it's family, work, or socializing. Learning forgiveness will make your relationships better because your attitudes will improve. And as your relationships improve, so do all other aspects of your life.
With the help of forgiveness, you can reach the next level of abundance and financial success. For example, if you want more money in your life, you need to make sure that you don't hold it against others when they have more money. People with more money are in a good position to help you make more money, too. If, as some do, you are jealous of "people with money", they will not be able to help you because you are so preoccupied with your envy that you are not open to help. Likewise, if you have a positive attitude (a smile instead of a frown) towards successful people, they will more easily come up to you, work with you, and spend time with you. Free eBook
If you want a better job or a higher income, a positive attitude towards your workplace, your boss, colleagues and customers is of great help. People with a positive and helpful attitude excel in any type of environment. In an organization that you do not wish to succeed in, you can never succeed yourself because you will not do your best. And if you don't do your best and do your job as well as you can, you won't get the best possible either. Forgiveness gives you the kind of attitude that will make you very successful in your work.
It is also important to learn to forgive yourself. By refusing to forgive yourself, you are hurting yourself and, with it, others. If you do not forgive yourself, you will punish yourself by not allowing yourself the good things in life. The more you refuse, the less you have to give. The less you have to give, the less you can be of use to those around you. Once you stop limiting what you are given, you will also stop limiting what you can give. Forgiving yourself is good for everyone because you allow more good in your life and have more to give.
As you forgive, you become a better spouse, better student or teacher, better employee or boss, and better parents and children. When you forgive, you are open to success, whatever that means to you. As you learn to forgive, the impossible becomes not only possible, but easily attainable.
If you are a religious or spiritual person, learning the practical side of forgiveness will enhance and deepen your experience of your religion or spiritual practice. You will be free from the guilt of not being as “good” as you think you should be because of the support you have in becoming the person you want. The practice of forgiveness strengthens the good in you, which then becomes more active in your life. You will become less drawn to the things you shouldn't but have been unable to stop until now. You will start to do more of the things you would like to do but haven't done until now.
Learning to forgive can only help you, it definitely cannot harm you. Free eBook
Forgiveness is extremely helpful in a practical way; there is nothing vague or impractical about it. Forgiveness brings you freedom. As you learn to forgive, many problems (possibly even health problems) will gradually go away. It is like seeing a bird's eye view of your life and figuring out the easiest path to your destination. Life will open up for you. New opportunities will appear out of nowhere. Lucky coincidences let you meet the right person at exactly the right time. Ideas and solutions come to you when they are needed. A friend makes a comment, you open a book or magazine, or you hear a conversation that gives you exactly the information you are looking for. Why is that? Because by practicing forgiveness, you are more open to the good in life so that the good can come to you more easily.
As you learn to forgive, you will activate dormant skills and discover how much stronger and more capable you are than you thought you were. Parts of you will flourish that could not grow in the sterile soil of the absence of forgiveness. You will be able to let go of struggle and effort. Your life will flow more easily, more pleasantly and more fulfillingly. If all of this sounds exaggerated to you, leave it that way for now. Just practice the Four Steps to Forgiveness, which you will find on the following pages, and you will feel the success for yourself.
