In-depth knowledge of the basic laws of the magnetic field is an indispensable prerequisite for studying the operating behavior of electrical machines. However, it is not the task of this book to present the theory of the magnetic field, which is anchored in Maxwell's theory of the electromagnetic field, down to the last detail. We have to limit ourselves to explaining the most important basic laws in a simple form, as we need them for our purposes.
