Almost 7.5 billion people populate our planet - but the 75 men and women listed here combine the most power.

In order to create the ranking of the world's most powerful people, the following criteria were taken into account: how many people the power extends over; how much money people control; to which geographical regions as well as areas of business or life their power extends; and how active they are in using their power. The 75 finalists were selected by a jury made up of Forbes editorial staff.
