DeepL Translator - DeepL Translate

Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing language translation. The Cologne company DeepL can do this better than GoogleTranslate. […] DeepL does the same thing that GoogleTranslate or Microsoft's Bing translator have been doing for a long time - only much better.

The translations [by Google Translate] are good, but DeepL's are better after some of the tests this newspaper did before DeepL was launched.
Germany fed the translation services of Google, Microsoft and DeepL with the Washington Post article on the election in Japan. […] DeepL worked best. The translation was fluent and correct. Even the subjunctive were recognized correctly.

Tech giants Google, Microsoft and Facebook are all applying the lessons of machine learning to translation, but a small company called DeepL has outdone them all and raised the bar for the field.
Its translation tool is just as quick as the outsized competition, but more accurate and nuanced than any we've tried.
United States

DeepL was far more correct with its translations than the online services of the major American Internet companies.

Even if the translations from English using Google and Microsoft are already quite good, DeepL surpasses them. We translated a message from a French daily newspaper - the DeepL result was perfect.

The first translator with the wow factor. The start-up DeepL brings an interpreter who clearly beats Google.

DeepL has surpassed the other translators thanks to its more “French” sounding phrases.
Le Monde

The system recognizes the language quickly and automatically, converts the words into the desired language and tries to add the respective linguistic nuances and expressions.

In an initial test - from English to Italian - it turned out to be very accurate and was particularly good at capturing the meaning of the sentence rather than derailing it with a literal translation.
la Repubblica

Even without a statistical claim, a quick test by the author for the language pair Italian-English confirmed that the quality of the translation is really good. Especially from Italian to English.
La Stampa

Some tests show that DeepL Translator actually offers better translations than Google Translate when it comes to Dutch-English and vice versa.

DeepL from Germany could overtake Google Translate

In fact, the WIRED short test shows that DeepL's results are in no way inferior to those of the top-class competitors and in many cases even exceed them. The translated texts often read much more fluently; Where Google Translate forms completely meaningless word chains, DeepL can at least guess one connection.

Personally, I am very impressed with what DeepL can do and yes, I also think it's great that this new evolutionary stage of machine translation was not achieved with software from Facebook, Microsoft, Apple or Google, but by a company from Germany. We like to make ourselves a bit small and pretend that there is nobody in this country who can stand up to the big ones. DeepL is a nice example that it works.
