Would you recommend Swagbucks
Swagbucks will give you gift cards for doing things that you are already doing online
I am probably the last person in the world who would willingly give my personal information to a marketing or advertising company. Would you be surprised to know that using Swagbucks changed my mind?
Well, maybe not completely. Swagbucks is an interesting way to earn some moola on the internet, and the great thing about it is that you don't really have to change your usual ways of using the internet, you just have to change where you use it. Areas in which you can turn your online promotions into financial rewards include web search, watching videos, shopping, and more.
Register and collect points
As soon as you sign up at Swagbucks, you will immediately start collecting points or SB. 4 SB for beginners and some other bonus SBs when you are ready to add the "SwagButton" to your browser or use the Swagbucks search engine as the default search engine when you open your browser.
Swagbucks' search tool is powered by Yahoo! and the search results are formatted as you would expect if you were to use Yahoo! as your search engine - so use a high quality search tool here.
In addition, the points (SB) appear in seemingly random intervals under your search query.
So really, it's like playing a lottery. Every time you do a search, you submit an entry for points and if you're lucky you land a successful search. I saw this message after 4 searches and after 20 searches so difficult to see a pattern. However, considering how long it would take to accumulate 1-4 SB by watching videos or taking surveys for example, this is a fantastic way to earn points, especially if you are looking a lot anyway.
With the SwagButton you can conveniently purchase self-service when shopping online and receive further benefits. Here are a few things to keep in mind just so you know what you're getting at: When you add the SwagButton, pay close attention to the permissions that you provide to the Chrome add-on How to Install Chrome Extensions Manually Like That manually install Chrome extensions Google recently decided to disable the installation of Chrome extensions from third-party websites, but some users still want to install these extensions. In all fairness, there's nothing terrible about being a part of what drives online advertising and product development, but when you consider your browsing history or data that you copy and paste to contain sensitive or private information, it has privacy and security You Must Read 6 Books About Online Privacy and Security You Must Read Since online privacy and security continues to be a hot topic, a number of high quality books are being written on the subject. Watch paid videos
The first section of Swagbucks that I was personally most interested in was "Watch," which is basically an area where you can click on video playlists to watch them. If you watch all the videos you will get a certain number of points.
For example, I saw 17 headline videos - things I would normally see on YouTube anyway - and earned 4 SB.
To put this in perspective, roughly 100 SB equals $ 1. Each of these videos lasted just under a minute. In total, these videos took about 17 minutes to play.
The good thing is that the playlists play one at a time. So using two screens allows you to create a playlist that will run while you work while viewing messages or other playlists that interest you.
There are plenty of categories to choose from too, so there are likely to be videos that you will love to watch anyway.
My only complaint here is how hard it will be to make a lot of money. If you were trying to just watch videos to earn a $ 50 coupon card, you'd have to watch a 4 self-service playlist 1250 times. I'm actually not sure there are that many videos to watch on Swagbucks.
So, of course you can't do everything in the videos section. It's good to make pennies doing things you love to do online anyway, but the real money you make at Swagbucks is elsewhere.
Make money through surveys
Case study: surveys. This is a very different ball game. You could spend the same amount of time watching 17 minute-long videos instead of taking a single survey that can pay out anywhere between 20 and 300 or more SB. Now let's talk about investing your time in real dollars instead of pennies.
In this area, however, there are still a few considerations to consider. The "Gold Surveys" are the best. They appear to be tailored to your demographics when you register your account, so you're more likely to earn the self-service amount that was promised you when you accepted it.
However, you will find that there are different types of surveys along the left navigation bar, Gold Surveys, Affiliate Surveys, Polls, Polls, and Tasks.
I personally tested 5 partner surveys, each lasting 10-15 minutes. In any event, after answering at least half a dozen questions about my age, gender, occupation, and interests, I received an "over-quota" warning.
You get 1 SB every time this happens, but that's a small consolation if you waste 5-10 minutes on a survey that ultimately didn't deliver what it promised. If I were to use Swagbucks long term (which I plan to do) I would avoid partner surveys until they do a better job and only offer surveys that are not yet above the quota for your specific demographic (which is already the case) collected as Part of your profile anyway).
The areas that I think are worth your time are the surveys, where you can just answer some fun questions and earn points quickly.
And definitely the gold polls. These are a little more time consuming and you will find yourself having to answer the same demographic questions (age, gender, occupation) over and over again, but the "time to complete" estimates are pretty accurate. The payouts here seem very fair too - 20 to 300 SB for 10 to 30 minutes of your time equals up to $ 2 or $ 3 for half an hour just answering some fun questions about your shopping habits and activities.
Gold surveys are probably the best Swagbucks activity to take part in if you don't have to invest your own money to get rewards. This is a direct payout for your time.
Peanut Labs Surveys are a mix of activities and sign up options that can earn you lots of points as well, but in this case most activities involve "signing up" for magazine subscriptions, free prescriptions, coupons, or more.
The tradeoff you are making here is that in order to receive some really good deals you will have to share more of your personal information than just demographic. You need to provide your address and phone numbers.
You can opt-in, or you could consider what many people are doing and creating a unique mailing address, phone number, and email address just for the purpose of participating in these promotions. The benefit of this is that you can take part in all of these promotions without cluttering your mailbox, getting email spam, and constantly receiving calls from marketers.
Discover cool stuff and collect points
Another area of Swagbucks to explore is Discover on the navigation bar. Here you will find a variety of offers and activities for a variety of self-service rewards.
One interesting area is the Mobile Apps category, which gives you points for installing and using a wide variety of apps on your mobile device. In most cases, you get points for buying and installing an app, but there are also some free apps that you can install for points.
Under the heading "Discover" there is also printable coupons, an area I can highly recommend. Basically, if you think about it by printing and using the rewards in this section, you will be rewarded with points for easily printing coupons and saving money. Boredom does not arise in the Discover area, with free trials, charity contributions and of course a large shopping area where you can find discounts and bargains that you would buy anyway - so it only makes sense to save money and collect points!
Redeem your points
One thing I'll say is that whichever method you choose to earn points how you use the internet, redeeming them couldn't be easier (or more rewarding) - just some of the big name gift cards that do You can order.
There are Amazon and eBay gift cards, cards for various major brands, or shopping malls like Sam's Club. Or, if you can't decide which card to go with, you can always use a VISA gift credit card that you can use anywhere in lieu of cash.
In all fairness, large gift cards will take time to redeem. Making a ton of money isn't easy, but it's not really impossible either - especially if you make Swagbucks a regular part of your internet experience, from doing internet searches to videos to surveys and shopping.
