Yep, he's got a lot of spin! (Sella & Mosca? Riserva? Year?)
I'm glad he tasted it and it's good night!

    Re: Wine Vino Vine Vin

Important topics when enjoying wine are temperature, previous breathing (i.e. the wine now) and vintage. Are there actually rules of thumb for household use, such as how long which wines have to breathe? For example, "Young wines that are not older than three years and have more than 12% have to breathe for at least x hours / shouldn't even go into a decanter / or or or"?

Do you always keep to the specified drinking temperature? It seems to me that warmer wines (room temperature) taste better than those that have the often recommended 18 degrees temperature.

"Enjoyed" yesterday: Bordeaux from Aldi Nord for 2.49. Probably not for gourmets, but I thought it was okay.

I actually just stick to the rules of thumb:

    - Do not cool red wine (...)
    - Let a good red one breathe a little in the decanter
    - White wines chilled out of the refrigerator door

But I have neither a thermometer nor a temperature cabinet or anything like that.

    Nope.

And on the 'important topics when enjoying wine': the most important topic is to me enjoyment. That has only to do with temperature, vintage, breathing, grape, growing area, glass shape, cork consistency, hillside location, color, price and flowery lists from botany. Can, yes, but definitely not have to. An edgy, honest table wine from the canister, in the evening after a strenuous mountain tour with friends, at the wrong temperature from a simple water glass, together with some cheese, olives and good music can be just as enjoyable as a properly decanted to celebrate whatever Chateau Hassenich seen from the matching Riedel sommelier, along with a distinguished 'connoisseur demeanor'. I am quite flexible there.

I totally agree with you, by “important” I also meant that there is a lot of bohei going on there. It is clear that there is also a lot of showing off.

My local Reichelt store also has a great Gavi for 6 euros. Unfortunately, it is no longer in the range.

Just follow yesterday's advice to drink ice-cold rosé at these temperatures. For this purpose I got a Spaniard from Rossmann for 3.49. Drinks off easily, without this thread I would probably not have got a rosé. Dazke for it. Cheers.
