Usually I am not interested in f2p titles because of the popular disadvantages compared to "full-fledged" games.
Still, I think Apex Legends is more than successful. In terms of the technical side, the game is already very finely polished. With the latest Radeon driver (19.2.1.) It kept crashing without an error message, with the 19.1.1 version the game runs 1A.
The gunplay is fast and crisp, like in a "classic" shooter. Hardly hitscan weapons, I was also very pleased. I also find the reduced movement system in comparison to Titanfall solved very well.
Compared to Fortnite, which I played a little and found quite fun, I don't miss building. I found the building aspect too stressful and rarely used it, even though it is relevant to the game and win.
Why many players make parallels with Overwatch is a mystery to me. The team balancing or class system cannot be compared at all with that of Overwatch, where a balanced team or the choice of characters is crucial AND you have to support each other INTENSIVE. That's not the case with Apex Legends, which I really appreciate. In principle, all classes / legends are the same, only the skills differ. Nevertheless, lone fighters usually get the short straw and thus the cohesion of the team continues to be a great advantage.
The game is free and you have no disadvantages as someone who does not contribute any money to the title. Therefore I find a general criticism only regarding the f2p as inappropriate.
Great game, try and keep or delete.

What are these disadvantages exactly?

Pay2Win, extreme grinding, the "feeling" of having an incomplete game, advertising junk, etc.

In well-made F2P titles, none of the points you mentioned appear. And that's why they are so popular or popular. Because you don't feel ripped off, you don't get to see any advertisements or anything like that. If F2P is done well, I get a motivating, well-made game that can even keep up with full-price titles in terms of quality, and it's completely free of charge.

On the contrary, this model can also have advantages for the player: Not only do you get in for free, instead of buying a new game for € 60 to € 120 (any ultimate super editions) and then noticing after a week that it isn't It's so much fun, you can get in here for free and have lost nothing if it doesn't keep what it says on the tin.

What's more, since the developers don't get a cent at first, they are encouraged to keep the customers happy because the € 60 full price that is missing here has to be compensated somehow. While some publishers leave their disappointed fans out in the rain with a full-price title after a short time, a Free2Play title cannot afford that. Therefore, in the best case scenario, new content, updates, events and whatever will be delivered there even after years. The player here often gets a multiple of a full price title in value without having paid anything for it, if he does not want that.

Then maybe spending 10-20 € for any content, because that's what you want, I don't see it as a rip-off for what you get and what you actually had to pay for it.

Is there Free2Play that doesn't do this model well? Or which ones that make you feel ripped off? There are sure as well as there are full price titles that are not worth the money. But here you can at least test it for free. If it's not good then I leave it. With Free2Play, these games then quickly disappear again. With a full-price title, the publisher instead, in the worst case, gets the money, is happy, and buyers only notice it when it is too late.

Played the game with three buddies over the weekend. The response was pretty positive. You can find a game right away, the game entry is super quick, the gunplay feels good too. All in all, I found it a lot more fun than expected. Also won a victory and that after a really exciting game. I also noticed the long time to kill, but I think that makes sense in the context of the game concept.

My fear that looting is too annoying has not been confirmed either. It can be seen at first glance what is useful and what is not and is quick and easy. I think Respawn is slowly but surely building up a really good reputation, so far they have always delivered.

It's fun, we'll keep playing. Hope that the other Titanfall title brings more Titanfall.
