The atmosphere in the workplace is significantly influenced by the employer and, in concrete terms, by the behavior of the superior. He is responsible for his employees during working hours and makes the decisions that determine a good or even a bad working atmosphere can. Most of them are well aware of this role, but unfortunately the potential associated with it is far too rarely exploited. It is not enough just to intervene to resolve disputes or discussions. Instead, companies - and specifically bosses as their representatives - should get active and create a working atmospherethat everyone can benefit from.
Appreciation and respect are basic needs of almost all employees. This includes not only praise for good performance, but also constructive criticism, suggestions for improvement, opportunities for further training, openness to ideas and an overall respectful approach. In the best case scenario, appreciation should become a habit and not just show itself in individual measures.
The more rigid and entrenched the specifications and structures, the more likely it is that the working atmosphere suffers. Nobody wants to just work on a plan that they have to adhere to completely. Companies should allow flexibility in the execution as well as in the work organization - for example through flexible working time models, home office regulations, but also free implementation of the assigned tasks.

Errors and setbacks are part of every company, the only difference is how they are dealt with. While some focus on finding a culprit and making him responsible for it, others look ahead and make the most of the situation. Always pointing your finger at others becomes a problem for the working atmosphere and promotes competitiveness, arguments and envy among one another.

Even if it is difficult for many: Do not try to constantly think in terms of comparisons. One colleague deserves more, the other can do a little better, but you excel in another topic. Such a mentality makes teamwork all the more difficult. Instead, see the collective accomplishments and successes.
Good atmosphere = bad performance?
