Nvidia & AMD: When will new graphics cards come?

With Geforce RTX 3070, 3080 and 3090, Nvidia presented high-end graphics cards at the end of 2020. They supplemented the portfolio with RTX 2060 Super, Geforce 1660 Super / Ti and 1650 Super for middle class and beginners. The official release of Ampere's first swing was completed on October 29, 2020 (RTX-3070 release). On December 2, the RTX 3060 Ti was launched and thus further depresses the prices of the previous generation - in theory. However, availability and demand are causing prices to rise. The RTX 3060 was released on February 25th.

On the AMD side, the Radeon RX 5700 and 5700 XT were replaced by the Radeon RX 6800 (XT) on November 18, followed by the RX 6900 XT on December 8. With that, AMD's high-end phalanx is complete as an answer! The Radeon RX 6700 (XT) was launched in March.

In the meantime, users from "Team Rot" can choose 5600 (XT) and 5500 XT or, if possible, Polaris (RX580 / 590). Depending on the price, the 5700 series could move up in interest - if it weren't for current delivery problems and the generally difficult hardware market including mining and high prices. When will there be supplies, when will new graphics cards arrive?

Big Navi has been engaged in an exciting duel with Ampere since November 2020 - RX 6000 is the opponent for the new RTX-30 cards. Classic 3D performance is on a comparable level, DXR (ray tracing) lags behind - both in terms of performance and game support: however, patches are available for this. AMD scores with a powerful and quiet reference design, but like Nvidia, it has to admit to extensive bottlenecks.

Later, a further answer could be a refresh of the previous Ampere cards before AMD reloads in March. What's going on in the graphics card market?
