Buying Burj Khalifa tickets: you need to know that
Before we start with the various tickets, we will give you some tips and basic information to better understand the various options.
# 1 Book your ticket early
Actually everyone who is in Dubai for the first time also wants to visit the Burj Khalifa. An average of 5,000 people climb the tower every day.
The queues are correspondingly long. Therefore, you should definitely book your tickets in advance. Preferably as soon as you have booked your flight tickets to Dubai.
The tickets for the Burj Khalifa are particularly popular in the main season between November and April or on dates such as Christmas and New Year's Eve. Then they are fully booked months in advance. This is especially true for tickets for sunset!
# 2 There are different tickets for different viewing platforms
The Burj Khalifa has two viewing platforms from which you can see the entire emirate. The first viewing platform is located on the 124th and 125th floors at a height of 452 and 456 meters, respectively.
If you want to go even higher, you can also visit the second viewing platform on the 148th floor. There you are at a height of 555.7 meters.
You can also buy a ticket for the 124th floor first and decide on an upgrade on site.
# 3 Burj Khalifa opening times
The platforms are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to midnight. The last opportunity to go to the top is at 23:00.
#4 There are not always discounts for children
Whether children get a discount depends on the viewing platform. There are discounted tickets for the 124th floor. Children between 4 and 12 years pay a reduced price of 23.50 euros, regardless of the time. However, there are no reduced tickets for children on the 148th floor. All children up to 4 years of age do not have to pay admission to either floor
# 5 All tickets are time-bound
Tickets for the Burj Khalifa are always issued for a fixed time. So when you buy, you decide on which day and at what time you want to go to the Burj Khalifa.
# 6 You pay an extra charge for the sunset ticket
A distinction is made between a ticket for the time of sunset, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and all other times. If you want to be up at sunset, you have to make sure to book a ticket.
# 7 You can stay up there for as long as you want
The time on the observation deck is not limited. So if you want to spend several hours up there, nobody will stop you.
Our personal Burj Khalifa ticket recommendation
Before you read through the various ticket options, we would like to give you our very own ticket recommendation for your visit to the Burj Khalifa.
Our tip: Book the Burj Khalifa sunset ticket. We were in the Burj Khalifa between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. for sunset. In our opinion, this is the best ticket option, as the sunset time shows Dubai in the most beautiful light and the atmosphere on the observation deck is also very nice. The ticket costs 42 euros per person and can be ordered here:

Burj Khalifa tickets: the different options
Before we went to Dubai, we felt we spent half a day looking at the different ticket options.
To make it easier for you, we explain the offers on the table above so that you can find the best ticket option for you at the end of the day.
Burj Khalifa basic ticket: morning or evening
With this ticket you can come to the Burj Khalifa at a time of your choice, but not between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. This is the time when most people want to go to the Burj Khalifa as you can see the sunset over Dubai. Clever, as the Dubai people are, it is then more expensive.
The ticket will be deposited for you at the Burj Khalifa and you simply pick it up there before you get into the elevator.
- At any time, except between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Pick up the ticket at the entrance
- price: 35 euros per person
To the simple ticket
Ticket + sunset (our choice!)
With this ticket you can get to the Burj Khalifa at sunset, i.e. between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Whether the sunset is worth it is always a gamble. We were on the Burj Khalifa even at sunset, but unfortunately we were unlucky. There was a lot of sand and haze in the air, so we didn't see much of the sunset.
However, we were there in the very hot season in September. The chances are much better in the cooler months.
- Between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at sunset
- Pick up the ticket at the entrance
- price: 42 euros per person
To the single ticket for sunset
Ticket + pick-up from the hotel or from the ship
The options shown so far do not include transport to the Burj Khalifa. So you have to organize the journey yourself.
If you don't want to drive to the Burj Khalifa on your own then this option is perfect for you. In addition to the ticket, you will be picked up from the hotel or from the cruise ship.
- At any time, except between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Pick-up from the hotel or port
- price: 78 euros per person
To the ticket option with pick-up at the hotel or at the port
Burj Khalifa tickets for the 148th floor
The options shown so far all include only one ticket for the lower observation deck of the Burj Khalifa on the 124th and 125th floors.
If the lower viewing platform is not enough for you and you would rather go very high, then tickets for the 148th floor at 555 meters are the right choice.
The tickets are valid for a time of your choice, including at sunset, and include the deposit in the hotel. There are also snacks and drinks on the 148th floor and you can also visit the platforms on the 124th and 125th floors with this ticket.
- The ticket is deposited at the hotel
- Snacks and drinks on the 148th floor
- price: from 90 euros per person

Burj Khalifa Ticket + City Tour
You can also combine a visit to the Burj Khalifa with a full-day city tour of Dubai. A German-speaking guide will show you the most beautiful sights of Dubai and at the end you will go to the Burj Khalifa.
The Burj Khalifa tickets are of course included. This option is particularly suitable if you are only on a short stopover in Dubai and want to see as much as possible in a short time.
- Pick up at the hotel or cruise port
- Full-day city tour with a German-speaking guide
- Burj Khalifa ticket, anytime except between 3pm and 6pm

Burj Khalifa Ticket & Burj Al Arab with Chauffeur
You don't just want to go to the Burj Khalifa, but also to the world-famous Burj al Arab. Then this package is just right for you.

Burj Khalifa tips for your visit
Finally, we will give you a few tips on how to make the most of your visit to the Burj Khalifa.
When is the best time to visit the Burj Khalifa?
This question is not easy to answer, because unfortunately it also depends on the weather. If the view is clear, then the time around the sunset is of course wonderfully beautiful.
We would avoid the blazing midday sun. It is probably not that crowded by then, but you also have the worst light for taking photos.
Dubai is of course also very worth seeing at night. Either you wait a little longer after sunset until it is really dark or you really don't go up until later in the evening.
You can also perfectly combine a visit in the evening with a visit to the Dubai Fountain. The water feature takes place daily between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at the foot of the Burj Khalifa. Depending on the season, the performances start every 20 or 30 minutes and each last around 5 minutes.
Burj Khalifa directions
The Burj Khalifa is located in Downtown Dubai. Just a few years ago there wasn't much more here than desert.
Now there are skyscrapers and huge shopping malls here.
With the red metro line you can get directly to the Burj Khalifa from the airport, as well as from Deira and Bur Dubai. The station is called “Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall”.
However, the metro station is about 1 kilometer from the Burj Khalifa.
The path leads completely through air-conditioned pedestrian tunnels, most of which are even equipped with conveyor belts.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi. Taxi driving is relatively cheap in Dubai.
Burj Khalifa tickets: provider comparison
In principle, you can also buy Burj Khalifa tickets on site. The elevators to the observation deck and the ticket counters are located in the Dubai Mall at the foot of the Burj Khalifa.
However, if you see the long lines at the ticket office, you will wish you had bought your tickets beforehand. Even if you buy the tickets on site, you have to decide on a time.
So you can't just go there, buy a ticket and jump right up there. This only works if there are still places free at this particular time.
We therefore strongly recommend buying your tickets online in advance. There are various providers for this.
We do not recommend buying directly on the Burj Khalifa website. The site is extremely confusing and payment is only possible by credit card.
Third party prices are the same and the booking process is much easier. You also have the opportunity to book interesting package deals.
We have had the best experience with GetYourGuide, a well-known German provider. The booking is quick, safe and reliable and there is a good German-speaking customer service in case of an emergency.
Burj Khalifa Hotel: Stay at the Armani Hotel Dubai
Just visiting the Burj Khalifa is not enough for you? Then just spend the night there. There is also a hotel in the Burj Khalifa.
The Armani Hotel Dubai extends over 11 floors of the Burj Khalifa and is for sure one of the most luxurious hotels in Dubai. It's not cheap, of course, but hey, that's Dubai!
To the Armani Hotel Dubai
Hotel tip for your Dubai visit
If the Armani Hotel Dubai is too expensive for you, there are of course dozens of other options in Dubai. To be honest, it doesn't really matter in which district you stay in Dubai in this city.
It is important that you are near a metro station so that you can get anywhere quickly and, especially in the heat of the city, do not have to walk far to the next air conditioning unit.
We have in the Deira district im Somewhere Hotel Apartment spent the night. It is right on a subway station. In 10 minutes you can get to the airport by metro and of course quickly to all the sights.
To the Somewhere Hotel Apartment
If you'd rather stay near Palm Island and the Burj Khalifa, we can do it for you Rove Hotel Highly recommend. The price-performance ratio is almost unbeatable for Dubai.
