What were Michael Jackson's platinum albums

The guys of the American rock band The Eagles kicked none other than Michael Jackson from the throne of the best-selling album in the USA and were able to beat the masterpiece “Thriller” with their LP “Greatest Hits 1971-1975”.

Is it a defeat?
As the American Association of the Music Industry - Recording Industry Association of America - confirmed to the British newspaper “The Guardian”, Michael Jackson and his album “Thriller” seem to have been kicked from the throne of the best-selling LPs in the USA. The guys from the rock band The Eagles are said to have beaten the King of Pop, who died in 2009, with their “Greatest Hits 1971-1975” compilation and were awarded 38 times platinum. Meanwhile, “Thriller” is said to have “only” gone 33x platinum and thus slipped to position two of the most successful CDs in America.

Twitter users and journalists such as Allen Hughes, David Bixenspan and Aaron Mendelson are certain that a compilation cannot be considered an album and are therefore questioning the new world record:

A greatest hits album is not an original LP recording like "Thriller". Mike still number https://t.co/3W752hzGCi

Anyway: If you are still attached to “Thriller” and especially Michael Jackson, you can still stream his LP via Spotify and indulge in memories:
