You can find important basics about learning the ukulele and about the instrument in general - such as sizes, models, strings, chords ... - on the ukulele topic page. If you notice while playing that you would like to start with a larger size (acoustic or electric guitar), we recommend our workshop to learn guitar.

You can find the practical instruction book from lecturer Daniel in the guitar & bass shop:

“The rule of the six strings over the music business must end! Release the ukuleles from their captivity in shops, attics and collections! ”This is what the Ukulele Freedom Front from Seattle demanded in 1998. The US shipping giant Elderly Instruments takes the same line, but puts it more politely: The ukulele is“ that Instrument of the 21st century ”. And indeed: there has been a huge boom in the last 20 years, which has brought the little four-string mainly into the hands of guitarists. This led to the production of precious instruments beyond the 1,000 dollar limit, but also to the start of mass production in China, Korea and Taiwan and to the storming of pawnshops around the world.
