How does a house get dirty

it's always dirty

Written by melanie84 on May 27th, 2015, 11:12 am

Hello, somehow it seems to me that everything is cleaner than ours
:-)
It's always dusty and the corners are always dirty.
Do you have some tips?

With us all windows and doors to the garden are always open when the weather is nice, and we have 3 cats and a dog - that's what it looks like here sometimes.

We have now bought a cordless vacuum cleaner (from Rowenta) - we whiz around with it when necessary.

"Normal" cleaning is done on weekends.

And most of the time you notice your own dust more than that of other people;

I vacuum twice a week and sweep every day, but there is always something ... 5 people, 3 cats, 2 dogs ...

The amount of dust also depends on where you live. Mother-in-law lives in a side street in the "village" (no, not really a village, but also not a city) - there is never any dust there.
We live in the big city right on a main road, I could actually wipe the dust here every day - but I don't do it, it doesn't make any sense anyway. So cleaning is done once a week and I have to live with it on the other days.

There are women who vacuum and mop the entire apartment every day and clean the bathroom, toilet and kitchen every day. With them, of course, it looks like it has been licked, many of my friends are like that too. I clean the whole house once a week, but I only vacuum occasionally. I do the sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms as well as the mirrors every day. Our house is always presentable, but not perfect at second glance.

If you find yourself TOO dirty, you just have to clean more often!

With us it doesn't look like it's been licked, but family / friends / acquaintances find that it always looks clean. So it's purely a matter of opinion ;-)
I don't notice anything like that with others either. As long as there are no dirty laundry and leftover food, everything is OK.
Don't drive yourself crazy
If necessary, I wipe everything with a damp cloth a maximum of once a week (sometimes only after 4 weeks - however, many white furniture). Vacuum every 2-3 days, toilet, sink every 2-3 days or as required. House mopping max. 1x per week or only after 2 weeks.
As long as there is a certain basic order / cleaning, everything is much more relaxed.

I go to work for 35 hours, have 2 children, a house and a garden ... what annoys me the most are the mountains of laundry ... but with a good rhythm I can handle it very well ;-)
Husband and children are partly also involved

Think about what catches your eye most personally. Dust bunnies on the ground? Then suck through a little more often, but don't try to clean it 100%, 80% cleaning is enough to make you feel more comfortable and it looks better on the outside.

Are there areas that are inaccessible to others? Then let go there.

And I can only advise everyone: muck out, muck out, muck out! How can you clean smartly and quickly when there is rubbish everywhere ?!
What do you really need, do you need all the decorative stuff or a few selected pieces?
