How are men in the hobbit

Dwarfs with sunglasses & gigantic men on the hobbit set

The shooting of The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey is in full swing and Quint from Ain’t it Cool News is busy reporting with lots of pictures from the set.

It is well known that Eric Vespe aka Quint from Ain’t It Cool News is a happy man. The online journalist can count Elijah Wood among his closest friends and therefore has the chance to visit the set of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which he has been reporting on for some time. Even if we get green with envy if we just think about it, we are a little happy that he shares his experiences with us.

The pictures not only show a lot of forest, but also director Peter Jackson how he rules it, and Tall Paul. His real name is Randall Paul, is a former police officer and, with his 2.1 m height, serves as a body double for Ian McKellen when the height of Gandalf plays a special role. For this reason, Tall Paul already trained in the times of The Lord of the Rings: The Companions with the cast member of the magician in order to acquire all his movements perfectly. We also see Bombur for the first time, the fatest and most sleepy dwarf played by Stephen Hunter. But we can probably think of cool sunglasses away for the film. Quint's report from the set is really interesting, but it does reveal a lot about The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the story and, above all, the locations of the film. So if you want to know more, you should read the Ain’t It Cool News article. Everyone else can look forward to the spoiler-free pictures.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 12, 2012. Directed by Peter Jackson based on the story by J.R.R. Tolkien and the script by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Guillermo del Toro, which he also worked on. In addition to newcomers like Martin Freeman, Lee Pace and Stephen Fry, we can look forward to a return of Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Ian Holm and Christopher Lee, among others.

What do you think of the new photos? Are you reading Quint's report from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Set or are you going to be surprised?
