Change the default font in Word

If you always want to use your favorite font in Word, set it as the default.

  1. change to start,and then select the Font dialog box, Launcher .

  2. Select the font and size that you want to use.

  3. Choose Set as standard out.

  4. Choose one of the following options:

    • This document only

    • All documents based on the "Normal" template.

  5. Choose twice OK out.

When the default font setting is not retained

Sometimes the default font is reset to the original font by a company's permission settings or certain add-ins. If that happens, here are some things you can try.

Checking permissions

  1. Choose begin out.

  2. Give in The Field Find the option Normal.dotm a, and choose Search out.

  3. Right click on Normal.dotm, and choose Properties.

  4. Make sure that on the tab Generally the option Read only is not activated. If it does, deactivate the option.

  5. Select the tab security out. Choose Under group or user namesYour name, and then make sure that you have in the Permissions box above write permissions feature.

  6. Choose OK out.

If you cannot clear the Read Only box or you do not have Write permission, contact the person who is responsible for your company's computer systems.

If you have write permissions and the default font setting still doesn't apply, you can try disabling Word add-ins and then changing the default font setting. That's how it's done:

  1. Choose You file > Options > Add-ins.

  2. Determine in the field Add-ins the add-in you want to disable, taking note of the add-in type in the column Type.

  3. Select this type of add-in in the Manage list and then Go to.

  4. Uncheck the boxes for the add-ins you want to disable and select OK off.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for other types of add-ins.

After changing the default font, you can reactivate the add-ins.

  1. Choose You file > Options > Add-ins.

  2. In the Manage list, choose an add-in type, and then choose Go to.

  3. Select the check boxes for the add-ins you want to enable and select OK off.

  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for other types of add-ins that you want to enable.

Note: You do not need to disable document review add-ins.

If you always want to use your favorite font in Word, set it as the default.

  1. change to format > font > font.

    You can also press the + key Press and hold D to bring up the dialog box font to open.

  2. Select the font and size that you want to use.

  3. Choose You standardand then yes out.

  4. Choose OK out.

When the default font setting is not retained

Sometimes the default font is reset to the original font by a company's permission settings. If that happens, here are some things you can try:

Checking permissions

  1. Open Finder and type Normal.dotm in the field Search a.

  2. Choose in the File menu option Download info from. Or hold up + I.

  3. Choose You generaland make sure yourself, that locked is deactivated. If it does, deactivate the option.

  4. Choose You & share permissionsand next to your name, make sure that under Permission & Write permissionhave read.

If you have the field Blocked can not disable or you do not have permission Read and write contact the person in charge of your company's computer systems.
