Culture for kids - on stage: Jazz for kids with "Julian's wilder gang"
"Culture for Kids" once again presents a great stage program for small cultural beginners with plays, music to sing along to, magic and clowning to make you laugh and jam.
This time as part of the jazz festival: jazz music for little people with "Julian's wild gang"
Julian's wild gang is not a band of robbers, but a music group that makes jazz music for little people. The Leipzig singer Juliane Wilde and her fellow musicians on rhodes, double bass and percussion make it swing and sound, crash and crash. In their luggage they have well-known, rewritten and new songs, story and movement songs as well as improvisation pieces. Just as everyone likes, you can join in or just listen. Because the gang concerts are something for children and adults at the same time! A cheerful coexistence of audience and musicians: building houses, requesting colors, holding hands, turning circles, singing notes, shaking bellies, swinging hips, throwing legs, swinging lamps, rattling rattles, catching tinsel and much more.
Juliane Wilde from Leipzig is the concert instructor, charming and energetic singing, who guarantees listening pleasure with top-class musical support. In 2005 she founded the “Noise School”, a slightly different music program for children. In 2006 the children's CD “Eine Kinderplatte” was released, which attracted attention across Germany. The new CD is called “Die Grün”, and it is green from the forest and meadow, frog and crocodile that are sung about. The “wild gang” grooves its way through swing, punk and Latin.

Silvia Ladewig tells: Stories from the Silk Road
"Iraq: Baghdad - City of Harun-al-Rashid"
Nowadays we associate war and destruction with the city of Baghdad. But that was not always the case: Baghdad was once the city of learning, science and research and cosmopolitan trade. She was imagination and inspiration for many people. The historical ruler Harun-al-Raschid in particular gave rise to exciting stories because he was obviously someone who liked to mingle with his people without being recognized ... On this evening, visitors immerse themselves in narrow streets, dangerous secrets and intrigues!
Silvia Ladewig has been telling fairy tales since 2005, especially for adults. She does it in the manner of traditional storytellers around the world: freely, creatively and dramatically. "To light a fire of imagination in the head, to stimulate a moving film that is playing in front of the inner eye, to cause time to be forgotten - if I can achieve that, at least partially, with my audience - then I've done my job."
Place: Nomad land - the yurts in the Volkspark Potsdam
Costs: 10.50 euros adults, 7.50 euros reduced. You will be reimbursed for the park entry to be paid for.
Reservation and further information: Matthias Michel (Nomadenland), Tel .: 0176 - 30 00 51 51 or e-mail: This e-mail address is protected against spam bots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it, Internet: www .nomadenland.de

International kite festival
Autumn time is dragon time - at least in local latitudes. The fascination of sending adventurous aircraft into the sky using wind power alone, on the other hand, spans the world. As early as 2,500 years ago, kites made of bamboo and silk were raised in Asia to carry wishes and requests to the gods.
In almost every children's room there is likely to be a kite somewhere, hardly a walk on the beach goes by without seeing at least a kite whirling through the air. Whether as a cultural object as in Asia, self-made children's toys or professional sports equipment - kites are among the most versatile and traditional objects around the globe. If you want to experience this fascination, help shape it or rediscover it, you should mark the International Kite Festival in your calendar.
Also this year kite enthusiasts and sky-hikers from all directions meet for the International Kite Festival in the Volkspark Potsdam. The event has now developed into the largest kite festival in the Berlin / Brandenburg region. There will be a lot going on in the sky: the classic diamond kite will do its laps as well as obscure objects that would be denied any flight potential at the mere sight. The spectators experience Asian kite duels, synchronous stunt kite flights, rodless single-line kites, kite chains, three-dimensional large kites, filigree box kites that screw their way into the sky, spectacular tricks and daring flight maneuvers at lofty heights. Prominent kite teams from all over Europe will try to keep their flying devices hard in the wind and steeply on the rope in order to conjure up a colorful spectacle in the sky with a little skill and a breeze of autumn wind. Of course, you are also encouraged to fly your own kite. During this weekend, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of kite lovers, stroll through exhibitions of kites or chat with the kite teams. The colorful dance of the kites is accompanied by a large family program with theater, clowning, kite building, archery, trampoline jumping, box climbing, handicraft stations, live music and much more.
Place: Meadow park
Entry: Admission: 5.00 euros, children 7-16 years 2.00 euros, family tickets (parents and their underage children) 12.00 euros, children up to the age of 7 free admission. Discount for annual ticket holders. Tickets only at the box office.
Partner: In cooperation with Flying Colors, Berlin.
