What qualifies as handmade on Etsy

What can I sell on Etsy?

The Etsy Marketplace connects people looking for unique products with independent sellers from around the world. Everything on Etsy must fall into one of these three categories: handmade products, vintage items, or creative supplies ("Materials & Tools"). Additionally, all items sold on Etsy must comply with our Prohibited Items Policy.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your shop and its items adhere to Etsy guidelines. Before you shop or sell on Etsy, read our Terms of Use.

Here is some more information about listing items on Etsy:

Handmade items

Handmade items are items that you, the seller, have made and / or designed yourself.

If you sell items in the "Handmade" category, you must:

  • Create or create the original designs for your articles yourself.
  • Enter all people who are involved in the production of your items or in the running of your shop in the shop profile of your shop. If you're working with a production partner, you'll need to include that production partner on the relevant article pages.
  • Use your own photos on your article pages.
