But if somebody should be guilty, then someone stands up for us with the Father who is himself without any sin: Jesus Christ. 2 For Christ took our sins, yes, the sins of the whole world upon himself; he atoned her.  3 When we obey God's commandments, it shows us that we know God. 4 If someone says, "I know God," but does not keep his commandments, he is a liar; the truth cannot be found in him. 5 But whoever lives according to what God has said shows God's whole love. This shows whether we are really connected to Christ. 6 Whoever says of himself that he belongs to Christ should also live as Christ lived.  The old and the new commandments7 What I am writing to you now, dear ones, is not a new commandment, but the message of God that you have heard from the beginning. 8 And yet this commandment is new because Christ realized it and you are now living according to it. For the darkness disappears because the true light shines for us.  9 If someone claims to live in this light but hates their brother or sister, then they are really still living in darkness. 10 Only those who love their siblings really live in the light. There is nothing objectionable to be found in him. 11 On the other hand, whoever hates his brother or sister lives utterly in darkness and does not know where he is going. He is like a blind man who cannot see anything in all the darkness that surrounds him.  12 I am writing this to you, my beloved children, because I know that your guilt is forgiven through Jesus Christ. 13 I am writing to you fathers because you know him who has been there from the beginning. But I am also writing to you, you young people; for you have conquered the evil one. 14 I write to you children because you know the Father; I also wrote to you fathers because you know him who was there from the beginning. And I wrote to you, young people, because you have become strong in your faith. God's word dwells in you, and you have conquered the wicked one. 15 Do not love this world and do not attach your heart to anything that belongs to this world. Because whoever loves the world cannot love God the Father at the same time. 16 What then belongs to the essence of this world? Selfish desires, greed for whatever catches your eye, complacency and arrogance. All of this does not come from God our Father, but belongs to the world. 17 But the world with its temptations will pass. Only those who do what pleases God will live forever.  Nothing should separate you from Christ18 The end of this world is at hand, my beloved children! Your last hour has come. You know that at that time the enemy of Christ, the Antichrist, will come. Many antichrists have already appeared. From this we can see that the world is coming to an end. 19 These enemies of Christ come from our own ranks, but in reality they never belonged to us. Because if they had really been Christians, they would never have strayed so far from us. But now it has become visible to everyone that they do not belong to us at all.  20 But Christ gave you his Holy Spirit, and that is why you know the truth. 21 So I'm not writing to you because I thought you had yet to learn the truth about God. You know this truth very well and you also know that no lying heresy can come from it.  22 If someone claims that Jesus is not Christ, the Savior sent by God, doesn't he have to be a liar? Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is without a doubt an Antichrist. 23 Because whoever stands against the son also stands against the father. But whoever professes his son also has fellowship with the father.  24 So don't let what you heard from the beginning dissuade you. If you hold on to it, you will be forever connected to God the Father and to his Son Jesus Christ. 25 Because that is exactly what God has promised us: eternal life with him.  26 You need to know that about these people who want to lead you astray. 27 But the Holy Spirit, whom Christ gave you, remains in you. So you don't need other teachers, the Holy Spirit himself is your teacher. What he tells you is true and without a lie. So hold fast to what the Spirit teaches you and stay with Christ.  28 My children, do not let anything separate you from Christ. Then we will approach him with confidence and do not need to fear his judgment when he comes. 29 You know that Christ lived the way God pleased. So you can assume that everyone who lives the same way is one of their children.  Chapter forward Bible translation 'The Living Book' (Hope for All)
