    Google is not an advertising company. You are a big data company.

Every tool, platform, and device they design has a purpose: to pull data from users and build a stronger search engine from it.

Think of it as a big data company.

You need to focus on what your target customers want. When you understand what they want, you can develop content that will attract them. If you listen to your target customer's feedback, the content you create will be used as a guide for more customers.

You can also use Google Analytics to find out what your readers want.

Step 1: Sign in to Google Analytics. In the menu on the left, click Behavior -> Site Content -> All Pages.

Step 2: Check out your most popular pages and posts.

The total number of pageviews is important, but also look at the average time on the page (the higher the better!), The bounce rate, and the exit percentage.

The average time spent on the page indicates whether people actually took the time to read your full post or just skimmed it.

Anything under a minute should be a sign that people are quick to skim and not read your article.

So when I see an average time of 30 seconds, I know people didn't find my post interesting enough to stay long.

The bounce rate is the percentage of people who landed on this page but then left without visiting other pages. It's not an indicator of success or failure in itself, but ideally you want people to read at least 2-3 pages.

The Exit Percentage indicates that, specifically for this page, some% of the users have left your website after visiting this page. Like the bounce rate, it's not an indicator of a problem in and of itself, but if your exit rate is 99%, it likely means that users are not finding what they want to know on this page.

Another great way to find out what people want is to see how often your content is shared on social media.

BuzzSumo is a great tool for that. Just enter your website url and hit go.

You'll get a list of your most popular content sorted by the highest number of shares.

That way, you will know what articles people love to share. The most common reason people share content is when they think it will be useful to others.

With that said, the total number of approvals your post is receiving is a great way to tell if people are finding your content useful.

Want to know the easiest way to find out what your users are thinking? Just read their comments on your posts. That usually helps a lot.

When you answer real user questions with your content, your search traffic improves dramatically.

The key elements of a good landing page are:

  • No navigation (you want users to stay on the page!)

  • A call to action (to sign up for your product, service, download a lead magnet, or any other type of action)

Landing pages can generate a lot of income.

Conversion rate experts made $ 1 million for Moz from a single optimized landing page and a few emails.

Recent research found that companies with 10-15 landing pages generated 55% more conversions than companies with fewer than 10 landing pages.

Companies with over 40 landing pages achieve 500% more conversions!

It draws you in with a big, bold headline. It highlights the most important points in a list for easy skimming. It also has an eye-catching registration form.

This is how you make sure that your landing page is SEO optimized.

Step 1: Find a long-tail keyword and use it on your landing page. For example, Copyblogger targets the keyword "SEO Copywriting" on one of their landing pages.

If you're using Optimizepress or any other landing page builder for WordPress, be sure to add title tags, a meta tag description, and keywords.

Of course, use the keywords throughout your content to avoid getting penalized for keyword filling. Include your long-tail keyword in the headline, at least one sub-headline on the page, and in your body a few times.

The content of your landing page must be useful.

Any SEO professional will tell you that the main goal of any good copy is to get you reading the next sentence.

Remember, the anatomy of a successful landing page starts with the heading. Your body content is also important and should include a testimonial or rating from a customer to build trust and credibility.

You also want to make sure that your landing page looks modern with a professional design.

“Design is king,” says Derek Halpern. If your content is useful but your design doesn't work, then most likely you are going to fail.

Your landing page will have a strong copy, compelling video that is emotionally engaging, and testimonials from happy customers that will go a long way in building customer loyalty.

Finally, create links from your existing content to your new landing page.

Enter your website url and click Run Test.

You will get a results page that will tell you if your website is cell phone friendly or not.

If your website is no longer cell-friendly, it's time to redesign it.

You can probably make some changes to your existing website design to improve the usability on mobile devices. However, in the long run, getting a completely new website can be faster and cheaper. Think of it as a great opportunity to refresh your brand at the same time.

  1. Increase your traffic with infographics
    Infographics are popular because they allow you to display complex information in a way that is easy to understand. With 65% of people being visual learners, a graphic goes much further than just a text article.

High quality infographics can increase your website traffic by 193%.

Unfortunately, most people don't pay attention to the "info" part. Instead, they focus on the graphics. Good design is important, but you need quality data to back it up.

Studies show that an infographic is read 30 times more often than a regular text article. Websites that publish infographics increase traffic on average 12% faster than websites that don't.

Why do search users and consumers prefer infographics?

This is because the human brain processes visual data 60,000 times faster than simple text. Additionally, 65% of users are visual learners. In addition, 90% of the information transmitted to the human brain is visual.

With infographics, you can generate up to 60,000 search visitors on your website!

Here you can see how:

Step 1: Get your stats. Find a trending topic or idea that people are looking for and compile some statistics on it.

step 2: Create the infographic. There are many free websites you can use to create infographics such as: B., Canva and Venngage.

If you'd like to make it yourself, here's how to do it with Canva.

Sign in to Canva and click Create Design. Select Infographic in the Blogging & eBooks section.

Canva gives you some great layouts to start with. Choose one on the left. Click anywhere on the infographic to start editing.

You can change the text and images until you are happy with the result. Canva also has a library of free stock symbols, photos, shapes, and charts that can be found on the Items tab.

When your infographic is ready, click Download above and save it as a PNG file. This will automatically download it to your computer.

Step 3: Write a blog post based on your infographic. Take the data from your infographic and turn it into an in-depth article to accompany the graph.

It's more likely that people will share your infographic if it has a post explaining this.

For example, if your infographic is titled "10 Ways to Make Your Website Load faster," you can expand on any of the tips in your blog post.

If you can publish unique content of at least 2,000 words and pair it with your infographic, your search traffic will double over time.

Remember that Google does not index the text in the infographic that is part of the image file. The only thing Google will index is the image itself. However, if you create a related blog post, Google will index that content and make your infographic more likely to show up in the image search results for that keyword.

Step 4: Submit your infographic to directories.

Once you have your infographic, submit it to these top 20 infographic directories.

Click on the filing services and study them carefully. You should ask the providers to show you the websites they want to send to. If you are unfamiliar with the websites they name, let them know. You hire them, which means you are in control!

Note: Focus on quality links over quantity if you want to avoid a Google penalty. That way, you'll improve your search traffic and keep your rankings up.

That could mean a couple of different things:

How does Google know which one you want?

How can you tell Google the exact "apple" you are referring to? Is it the Apple Company or the apple fruit? Or is it something else but related?

Since Google is much more sophisticated these days, we no longer need to keyword our content in order for it to understand our intent.

Whatever you do, don't include keywords in your content!

Keyword filling is when you overuse keywords and phrases related to the main keyword in order to rank higher in a search, which is a bad SEO practice that you should avoid at all costs.

For example, consider the following related keywords: iPhone reviews, best iPhone reviews, new iPhone reviews. If you use all of these keywords in your content, chances are that Google won't rank this page well, especially if the content is between 300 and 500 words.

Here is an example of a keyword-filled paragraph:

Would you like to learn Java online? Most Java tutorials are not created to make it easier for beginners to learn Java online as the online Java learning platforms are not easy to use. But today, in the Los Angeles area, you can easily learn Java online from the comfort of your home and become an online Java expert.

Not great, is it?

The main keyword "Java Online" was mentioned four times, which is too common for this small amount of content.

There is a better way to change this paragraph and make it more user-friendly without neglecting the main keyword "Java Online". All you need to do is find synonyms for the keyword. For example:

Are you ready to learn Java online? This is a good step in improving your skills and giving you a better chance of getting that job. There are several places where you can learn Java on the web. You will be programming in Java within 2 to 3 months. Most people don't like the idea of ​​taking online Java courses, but I believe this is one of the most flexible ways to access a wealth of knowledge and qualify yourself in your life.

The difference is clear, right?

The second paragraph sounds better to users and keeps using your keyword without overdoing it.

Some guidelines for finding synonyms for your main keyword:

The trick is to cover a topic in enough detail that every part of the post is valuable to the reader. When you make it more attractive to people, it becomes more valuable to Google as a page that appears in search results.

A major benefit of longer content is that it contains more relevant keywords and ranks for them.

The consistent publication of informative content with more than 1,890 words leads to a high return on organic search traffic.

    A roundup post is when you interview a few people on the same topic or make a list of the "best" of something.

Not only is this a great way to bring different viewpoints to your article and learn new things, but it also helps in increasing your SEO rankings and traffic.

The main benefit of these posts is that thanks to the experts you interview, you can introduce your website to many new audiences.

If you were featured in a recap, you would be sharing that with your audience, right?

Creating a roundup post that will drive your traffic is easy:

Step 1: Find your topic and a good question to ask your experts.

For example, if I wanted to write a post about tips on how to increase your traffic, I could ask, "Which strategy has increased your website traffic the most?"

Step 2: Make a list of your experts and contact them.

Make a list of as many experts as you can to write about. If you want to publish 10 expert opinions, make a list of at least 20 experts.

Finding their email addresses may not be easy. Instead, make a note of their social media profiles.

Then reach out with a nice email / social media message and ask them for their opinion!

Remember to include a link to their website as a thank you for your contribution.

Step 3: Gather your responses, write and publish the post.

Make sure you link back to all featured people.

Once it's posted, be sure to send a follow-up email or social media message to let them know of the post's release.

Ask them to share it with their audience.

Even if only half of your 10 experts share this, that's still five more target groups than you would have reached yourself. Depending on the size of your expert's audience, this could be thousands or tens of thousands of new visitors to your website.

  1. Post valuable content on social media
    When your blog is new it can be difficult to rank well in Google search results for high volume keywords because your domain and page authority are still very low.

However, you can use social media platforms to gain credibility and traffic.

Domain Authority is the general probability that your entire website or domain will rank high in searches.

But not all social media platforms are created equal when it comes to building authority and traffic.

I'm not talking about Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest, where anyone can post what they want. I'm talking about authoritative platforms where high quality content is expected.

Some examples are Slideshare, Blogger, Quora and so on. These websites offer you the opportunity to improve your search rankings and build a fan base within a short period of time.

Does government use of social platforms increase your search traffic and ranking? Yes!

If you want to use Slideshare as a search booster, here are the basic steps you should take:

Step 1: Find a trending topic. In my experience, simply picking a keyword and creating a great slideshow presentation doesn't always generate excitement on social media.

Instead, look for topics that are already trending on blogs. Just like looking for blog post ideas, find out what people are talking about right now.

Return to Step 2 for some tips on how to find out what's trending on sites like Quora.

Step 2: Make an outline. Read the article you selected in Step 1, pick key points, and outline your presentation. This makes it easier to put together the complete presentation.

If you only want to make a presentation based on someone else's post or article, make sure to get their consent first to avoid plagiarism. Do this before you move on to the next step, and don't forget to include the author of the post that inspired your presentation.

Step 3: Find supporting pictures. Slideshow presentations are all about using images to grab and hold the viewer's attention. You can find free photos by searching Google for “free photos”.

Some tips:

  • Choose photos that are relevant to your topic or point
  • Use high resolution images / photos
  • Use free photos with no copyright restrictions
  • Use pictures as accents - don't let your text overwhelm you
    Step 4: Study Successful SlideShare Presentations. Learning from the experts is the best way to grow your own traffic and search rankings.

Could you do better? Could you find more facts and data to support the points made? If the answer is yes, make your own presentation.

Step 5: Create your slideshow presentation. Use all of the information you've gathered to create your presentation! Try to really make these stand out from the others you have studied.

You can use any software to create the presentation: PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, and save as PDF, depending on what you want.

You can even use Canva, mentioned earlier in step 5, to create a SlideShare presentation.

Don't forget to add a link to your chosen landing page for the topic. The link that came from SlideShare does not follow. So, you are getting link juice to improve your search rankings. This presentation directs people to their guiding magnet to double leads and sales and takes you to this landing page:

This is a great way to attract leads and subscribers to your email list.

When it comes to search engine rankings, share your presentation on Scribd and Animoto too for stronger page authority. The additional links on these websites will attract new audiences and improve your rankings.

  1. Use advanced SEO internal deep linking

Deep linking is the practice of using anchor text to link to other pages on your blog. This shows Google the depth of your website's pages and encourages Google to index more of them.

Most people focus on attracting search visitors to their home page, but struggle to organize their internal pages.

Your older blog posts and landing pages, which offer immense value for relevant topics, can generate a lot of new traffic. You should link to them frequently to build the structure of your website.

Without internal links, a Google spider can see your website like this:

Pages C and D could be very important, but the spider cannot easily see them.

If your content is properly linked, the Google Spider can display all of your content in an organized way:

Linking together pages other than your homepage will improve the SEO score for those internal pages and their search rankings, even for difficult keywords. Before you start building links to your inner pages, however, you should first check how many inbound links are to your home page compared to your other pages.

Step 1: Call up the OpenSiteExplorer from Moz. Enter your URL in the search field and click "Search".

step 2: Click on "Top Pages" in the left menu.

step 3: Check the number of inbound links for your homepage (the first line).

A high bounce rate often occurs on websites that have significantly more links to their home page than on internal pages.

Here are some other ways that deep linking to internal content will help your ranking:

Improves page authority: Google likes fresh content because current information is more relevant and useful to users.

Adding new content regularly isn't the only way to increase your page authority. Linking to older content gives those pages more performance and tells Google that they are still relevant.

Your homepage may have a higher PA, of course, but you need to work towards increasing internal page authority.

Cyrus Shepard stated in a Moz post that Google gives fresh content a rating based on the date it was published.

This freshness score can decrease over time and is also responsible for increasing or decreasing this page's search ranking. You will find that the original organic rankings increase is likely to deteriorate as the content ages.

Makes your internal pages indexable. If you regularly link to your internal pages, search engine spiders can find and index them more easily.

An easy way to link to internal pages is on your latest blog post, as I am doing when I say you could double your traffic. The words "double your traffic" are a good example of anchor text. I linked to an older post with more tips on growing your blog relevant to my current topic.

  1. Submit link juice to lower ranking pages
    If you have a page that is currently on page 2 or 3 of Google search results, you can move it to page 1 by passing high quality link juice to those lower-ranking pages.

Link juice refers to outbound links from sources with high authority on your content. Since these links are from high authority websites, that reputation on your content will be compromised. This essentially gives Google a hint that your content needs to be high quality as well.

Let's think of it this way: You have two websites that are 100% identical - same design, same content. If all other factors were equal, the website with the most links would rank highest in search results.

This indexing article was previously on page 2 of Google results for the search term “index your website”.

Now it's the third organic search result on page 1!

Step 1: The post has been updated. I've added new links, content, and updated dates to keep the post updated.

I detail how you can update your older content in Section 18!

step 2: Share it again on social media. Since I updated the post, I've shared it again on all of my social networks. This brought a lot of new traffic.

step 3: Linked to it in my recent posts. Every time it was relevant to a new post I wrote, I included a link to it. This diverted traffic to the older post and resulted in people sharing and referring to it themselves.

  1. Link to external sites with high domain authority
    It helps in getting link juice to your content when you get links from domains with high authority. Likewise, it helps your overall trustworthiness in the eyes of Google if you link to websites with high authority.
  1. Grab the Broken Link Options on Wikipedia to create links
    This is overlooked by many marketers but is very powerful for generating high authority backlinks to your content.

Scan Wikipedia for dead links and claim them as your own!

There are two types of links you can get from Wikipedia:

Citation Required: This means that someone editing a Wikipedia article mentions a statistic or fact without linking to a source.

Dead Link: This is a source that was previously linked to, but for some reason the website or page no longer exists.

If you can write a post on the topic and be a credible source of information, you can get these valuable links from Wikipedia.

You can also use Google to find dead links on Wikipedia. Use the following search term:

Page: "Keyword" "dead link"

For "Content Marketing" you will get the following results:

Read through the article that needs a source. If you have content that already backs up this statement, then you can move on to submitting your link. If not, you'll need to write a new post that goes into this topic in depth and has verifiable data.

To submit your link, click on the text [Edit] next to Digital Marketing.

You will get the Wikipedia editor screen. Find the phrase that requires a quote, click on it at the end and click on Quote in the top menu.

Paste your URL in the box above and click Generate.

This screen will confirm your quote and mark the date it was added.

To save your changes to the item, click Save Changes in the top right of the screen.

Your editing will be submitted for moderation. If the Wikipedia staff agrees that it is a valid data source for that point, it will be added to the page and you will enjoy increased page authority and traffic from Wikipedia.

Wikipedia links are technically non-observable, which means they won't give you any link juice. However, the domain authority ranking and Google trust level are very high, which means that there are still good ranking factors for search engines if you are earning Wikipedia links.

  1. Find and use your competitors' SEO keywords
    Researching your competitors is a smart move. Why reinvent the wheel when your competitors have already done the hard work of ranking it on Google's top pages?

They can spy on the exact keywords they are ranking for and use the same keywords to create better content.

Something as simple as signing up for your competitor's newsletter can show you the whole email marketing strategy. A little research costs nothing but your time and can produce some great new strategies for you to try.

How do you find out which keywords your competitors are currently ranking for?

Step 1: Go to Ubersuggest. Type your competitor's website URL (e.g. in the search box and press Enter.

The Position column tells you what position is in for this keyword in the Google search results. For example, they are the first organic spot for “How do blogs make money?”.

To check that the keywords are really placed in the positions indicated by Ubersuggest, we do a quick Google search for “How do blogs make money?”.

Definitely the top spot!

Now your job is to create high quality content using the same keywords. Use all of the other tools on this list to build trusted links and increase this page's ranking performance.

  1. Use the AdWords copy in your on-page SEO
    Another great way to take advantage of the spotlight on your competition is to search for keyword ideas on the Google AdWords search ads.

Google AdWords ads are short and already optimized for your competition's target keywords. If you can create a quality article that organically ranks well for the same keyword, you can easily establish yourself with your target customers.

As you establish yourself high in organic search results, trust will be built and you will be displayed first to those who use ad blockers.

  1. Search engine optimization Use multiple keywords in SEO page titles
    The title of your SEO page is the title that will appear in Google search results. Here is an example.

You want to make sure that every page title has a keyword for every page and post on your website.

One strategy that I've found particularly effective is to include multiple keywords in each page title. Make sure you don't use it to spam or it could hurt you.

By spam, I mean just stuffing keywords even if they are a little different. Or, use spam trigger words that will instantly give Google the impression that your content is less than legitimate.

For example, let's say your post is about fall hair colors and you want to rate the following keywords:

Hair color
Autumn hair
Fall hair trends
Here are some examples of a page title that combines these in a natural-sounding way:

Fall hair trends: the best hair colors of the season

5 hot hair colors right now: fall hair trends

And here is an example of a keyword-filled, not good page title:

Fall hair color trends - hair color for fall

See the difference The first two sound natural and like you could imagine seeing them online. The last one just seems to be spam and it seems like he's trying too hard.

If your page titles sound like you're trying too hard, chances are you are.

  1. Monitor the Google Search Console statistics

The Google Search Console is a powerful tool that can help you track potential issues with your website that are affecting your rankings.

  1. Update your old content regularly
    If you've blogged for more than 3 months, you have a goldmine of content in your archives that you can use for other purposes.

You have undoubtedly written some posts that are still generating organic traffic. You can improve these posts and use their authority to drive higher search rankings.

First, make a list of your top performing content.

Step 1: Sign in to Google Analytics. Click the Behavior tab on the left.

step 2: Click Site Content -> All Pages and find the best performing posts three to six months ago.

Here's what I am updating to keep my posts updated with the best performing and to keep them current and popular:

Step 1: Write a shareable headline. The most important step is to write a headline that will inspire people to share your post and that includes your SEO keyword.

If your old post is titled "How To Make $ 10,000 On Your Blog", adding a bit of personal flair will make it easier to share. The headline should arouse curiosity, but still be clear.

Something like this: How to make $ 10,000 a month on my blog while traveling around the world

It's a little more fun, isn't it?

You can even add a number to the heading as people are more likely to share headings with a number. Headlines like "7 reasons blogging can be a career" etc.

For example:

How I Make $ 10,000 Blogging Part-Time (And A 3-Step Plan To Follow)
How I did my first $ 10,000 blogging from home in 30 days
Check out this headline from Copy Hackers. It's thought-provoking, keyword rich, clickable, and clear:

Step 2: add customer testimonials or notable mentions. After you've got some experience, make sure to show it off in your content.

If other people have conducted experiments on your topic, always include this information. For example, Austin Church wrote a post describing the 12 things he learned from me.

That's pretty great.

Not only do I appreciate Austin's contribution, but he says great things about me like, "Do what he says and your business will benefit." Whoa!

Customer references are huge for marketing. When it comes to including a testimonial in a piece of content, that piece of content has an 89% success rate.

Don't let your reader jump on board if you're the only one saying how great you are. But when someone else supports this, your authority and influence will increase.

If you receive a testimonial, find a suitable content and add that testimonial.

Step 3: update old data and pictures. If your post was originally from 2014 and is now 2017, you'll need to update your data sources.

If your website has been redesigned during this time, you will likely need to update the images in the post to match your current branding.

I do this regularly with my top performing content. For example, this guide on indexing your website is one of my favorite posts.

If something changes with the Google algorithm or the indexing rules, I will update this post so that it is always up to date. I don't want new users to come to my site and find outdated information. So it is important that my top content is accurate.

Another word for such content is your “cornerstone content”.

Cornerstone content is basically the foundation of your blog. These are the items that you are most proud of that are unique, detailed, and informative.

Brian Clark describes it as, "It's what people need to know in order to use your website and do business with you."

An easy way to keep track of your cornerstone contents is to create a table. Add the following columns:

Post title
Post url
Main keywords
last update
Search your list every few months and make sure that none of these posts take too long without being updated. Don't go more than six months without updating any of your cornerstones.

  1. BONUS - Revise old articles with more organic traffic potential
    In the previous section, we discussed how to keep your articles fresh and optimized with the best performance. But what about the items that didn't go down that well?

You should also update your lowest performing content to improve it.

You know it's a good topic and people want to know, otherwise you wouldn't have written about it in the first place. Revising an old, poorly performing article is a surefire way to get more organic search traffic.
What's the alternative? Write a new post from scratch. It can do you well, or it could flop. It's worth revising an old post!

To turn your previous content errors into organic search stars:

Step 1: make a list of your underperforming content.

Open the Search Console and click Search Traffic -> Search Analytics.

Make sure clicks, impressions, and position above are turned on.

Look at your results. You want to update all posts that are between 7-15.

Step 2: analyze keywords. Run the lowest performing posts you want to update through

Enter the keyword for which you want to check the ranking and URL of your post and click "Go".

You can do multiple searches at the same time and see all of your results at the bottom of the page.

This post was not rated at all for the keyword “sales funnel”, but was rated 15 for the “LinkedIn Page”.

If my goal was to rank higher for the LinkedIn Page, now I have some data to start with. There are over 200 factors that go into search engine rankings. However, if you update this old post with a better optimization for that keyword, you can improve its position.

The top four organic search results generate 69.6% of all traffic.

The higher the performance of content in search results, the more eyeballs will appear on it and the more clicks you will get.

step 3: Update the post. Similar to the section above, here's what you want to update:

  • Old dates or quotations
  • Pictures or broken links
  • Optimize for keywords that you want to rank higher for
  • Add new insights from your experience or breaking news that are relevant
  • Include a testimonial or case study

Step 4: Restart the post.

It is important to change the post's publication date to today's date. You don't want it to be buried in your archives or for Google to think it's old news.

When you're ready to restart the post, change the post date. In WordPress, there is an edit link next to the date that you can click.

Just change that to the current date.

This will bring your revised post to the top of your blog feed, so it will look brand new and more people will see it.

There are a few more things you want to do right now:

Share it on social media
Reach out to anyone mentioned in the revised content and ask them to share it too (this is very effective!).
Send it to your email list
The revision of old content was very successful for me. In the first half of 2017, my organic search traffic is up compared to the last six months _% gone up.

It would have taken me 10x as long to develop and write all the new post ideas instead of editing the ones that were already worked on. Using existing content is always more efficient than starting over, and the traffic results prove it.

A blog is a powerful brand marketing tool.

Blogs are ranked the fifth most trusted source of accurate information. 84% of people bought a product after reading it on a blog.

Maybe that's because blogs inherently offer a personal touch that can't be found anywhere else.

To maximize your blog's potential, you need to make sure it gets found in search results.

These advanced SEO techniques might not be the easiest to implement - they certainly require more effort than basic keyword research and link building - but they are incredibly effective. Using these strategies can double your search traffic, especially when you combine these tactics with storytelling principles when creating content.

SEO success is all about delivering useful and relevant content to your target audience.
