Idea from @Oreo_Pirat: "Siesta flash mobs in front of the public institutions would be just as suitable! #Nachrichtensiesta #spanishrevolution"

When does a flash mob take place where in Germany? [preferably all at the same time]
Who is taking part? [at least 10 people to make it work]
What could be done for optical support? (Sombreros, banners ....)

Suggestion: Friday, May 20, at 4 p.m.

  • Mainz: in front of the ZDF - I'm there: you?
  • Berlin: in front of the XYZStudio - I'm there: you?
  • Munich: in front of the BR (?) - korbinian - would be there if at least 10 people came

For several days, around 130,000 people have taken to the streets in 70 Spanish cities. They are people from all age groups, with different professions and political orientations. In short: people like you and me. Your main concern is:

"Real Democracy - Now!"

The German media hardly report on what is going on in Spain. A development that could already be observed at the beginning of the demonstrations in Tunisia and Egypt. Such events cannot be withheld from the general public. In view of the explosive nature of the people's demands in Spain, this silence is not surprising: many of their demands are not only relevant for Spain, but also for large parts of Europe!

The main motivations of the people in Spain are:

  • Equality, progress, solidarity, cultural freedom, sustainability and development, as well as the well-being and happiness of people must be the priorities of a modern society.
  • Fundamental rights granted by society: the right to housing, work, culture, health, education, political and social participation and free personal development.
  • Right now, our government and the economic system are not taking care of it, but are an obstacle to human progress.
  • Democracy belongs to the people (demos = people, kr├ítos = rule): all people, the whole people, should therefore participate in the rule.
  • The greed for power and its limitation to a few people brings with it inequality, tension and injustice.
  • The outdated and unnatural economic model drives the social machinery, like an ever-growing spiral that destroys itself.
  • The aim and intent of the current system is to accumulate money without paying attention to the economy or the prosperity of society.
  • The citizens are the gears of this machine, which was developed only to help a minority to become wealthy! This minority does not care about our needs.
  • We need an ethical revolution. Instead of putting money above people, we should put it back into our service.
  • We are people, not products. I am not a product of what I buy, why I buy it, or from whom.
  • We reject violence.

It's enough - for a long time. The sparks of revolt have now jumped from North Africa to Europe. Let's make sure that these sparks don't go out!

Hence our appeal:
