Boeing held a roll-out of unmanned slave

The Australian division of the American concern Boeing aircraft held 5 may 2020 held a rollout of the first flight model of promising unmanned Loyal wingman Wingman, which is being developed under the project, Teaming Airpower Systems. As writes Flightglobal, soon the developers will start ground testing of the UAV.

Boeing is developing unmanned Loyal wingman Wingman by order of the Ministry of defence of Australia. Promising the unit will be able to act as maintainer for manned combat aircraft. The layout of the drone, the American group first showed at the beginning of last year.

Under the agreement with the Australian military, Boeing must collect and test three prototype Loyal Wingman. Check drones will be on the test missile and space ground “Woomera” in South Australia.

Loyal Wingman has a length of 11 meters and a wingspan of 11.7 metres. The device is made modular. The payload for the drone will be placed in replacement of the nasal compartments with a length of 2.6 meters. The unit will be able to perform flights on distance up to 3.7 thousand kilometers, bringing additional weapons or detection systems and surveillance.

At the beginning of April 2020 experts Boeing produced the first inclusion of on-Board systems Loyal Wingman in the composition of the assembled fuselage. The first flight of the UAV is scheduled for the end of 2020.
