Cubsat-telescope first saw the transit of the exoplanet across the stellar disk

Data analysis cubsat telescope ASTERIA launched in 2017 aboard the ISS, showed that he was able to successfully observe the transit of super-earths 55 Cancer e is the disk of its star. Preprint published on the portal arXiv.org.

Telescope ASTERIA (Arcsecond Space Telescope Enabling Research In Astrophysics) has been developed to demonstrate the possibility of high-precision photometric observations with an optical system installed on the satellite cubsat 6U format. It had the dimensions of 23.9 x 11.6 x 36.6 cm, weight 10.2 kg, and the field of view of 28.6 square degrees. Telescope ASTERIA launched from the ISS on 20 November 2017, cubsat worked for two years (eight times more than the planned service life).
