On the deep reef off the coast of Australia found the 47-metre siphonophore

Institute of Oceanography Schmidt shared the results of an expedition vessel Falkor to the reefs of Western Australia, which was discovered new species of marine animals (including a 47-foot siphonophore) and a number of creatures not seen before in this region. The samples were found and collected with the help of a robot SuBastian at depths of up to 4500 meters.

Falkor — scientific research vessel of the Institute of Oceanography Schmidt, where scientists from different countries are exploring deep waters of Australia and the Pacific. It helps them SuBastian robot, which is equipped with 4K camera and yet able to collect carefully, sucking or getting different samples from a depth of 4500 meters.
