Russian biophysicists have proposed to obtain a polymer-protein leaves elektrodrazenie

scientists have developed a method for the production of polymer-protein canvases by the method of electrospinning from the solvent and immiscible polymer pairs and protein. Article published in the journal RSC Advances.

Elektrodrazenie – method of producing polymer coatings of the strands with the application of high voltage to the resulting polymer solution, whereby the filaments thinner than conventional extrusion of the polymer through the nozzle. Elektrodrazenie canvas can be used as substrates for cell culture, wound dressing materials in the field of tissue engineering. Polymer-protein fabric obtained by this method possess high biocompatibility and can be used as a source of prolonged release of drugs, proteins and peptides.

However, most pairs of protein-polymer are not mixed together, which causes phase separation, which adversely affects the structure, properties and morphology of the leaf. Few existing works have proved the possibility of the existence of homogeneous webs of immiscible pairs of keratin and polyamide or gelatin and polylactide.

Elizabeth Pavlova (Pavlova Elizaveta) and her colleagues from MSU, MIPT and the Federal research and clinical centre of physico-chemical medicine investigated the morphology electroplating paintings from a solution of polylactide and bovine serum albumin in 1,1,1,3,3,3-of hexafluoro-2-propyl alcohol. Biophysicists have constructed a phase diagram of ternary mixtures and found that the solution mixture remains homogeneous only at relatively small concentrations, or when the prevailing concentration of the polymer or protein, the system can be considered as two-component. The presence of the spinodal curve – the ratio of substances in which the components of the mixture start to flake characterizes all such systems solvent and immiscible polymer pairs and protein.
