One, designed for enterprises, has a semi-active scheme of work and allows you to hold heavy loads without strain on the hands and also to sit without a chair. The developers showed the prototype at different tasks. Second, the exoskeleton is designed for dentists and is still in the design stage.
Exoskeletons can be divided into several basic types, and for the two classifications: the location on the body (the exoskeleton of the whole body or of one of its halves) or activity. The most impressive development is a full — size active exoskeletons, such as the Guardian, XO. They greatly enhance human strength, allowing you to move very heavy loads and reduce the load on his body. However, they are expensive and complex to develop, and partly because this is the most realistically applied in practice exoskeletons have a passive construction. For example, Ford is experiencing in several of its automobile factories passive exoskeleton upper body, reducing the load when working with his hands raised high.
Severaln engineers “Association of Builders Exo” is not the first work week with the creation of exoskeletons of different design and purpose, and are now actively working on two projects: ПЭ52-ST for industrial enterprises and ES-01 for dentists. The first of them already has working prototypes.
Engineers chose semi-active design, in which the exoskeleton does not duplicate or enhances the movement of the arms due to electric motors, hydraulic actuators or pneumatic actuators. However, in the joints of the hands have an active locking mechanisms. Thanks to them, the employee may, for example, to hoist a heavy drill or other tool, and then to block part of the exoskeleton and thus remove the load from the hands and to work in this position conditionally unlimited time.
Another feature ПЭ52-ST is that the manual part of the exoskeleton can detach and use as a second pair of hands or, for example, unfasten one hand piece and hang it on the heavy tool, and the second is to leave the exoskeleton. In addition, this exoskeleton is the part of the foot that allows you to redistribute the load from the hands to the zone, and actually fully remove it.
There are completely passive exoskeletons without electrical components, which nevertheless reduce the load on the person. For example, the Iranian developers have created a passive lower limb exoskeleton and experimentally showed that when wearing it while running, the metabolic cost of human decline by eight percent.
