American company Stratos Aircraft began flight tests of advanced very light jet passenger aircraft 716X. As reports Flightglobal, the first flight took place on July 2, 2020 in Redmond, Oregon. The duration of the first flight was 22 minutes. The test was deemed successful.
To the class of very light jet aircraft is considered as aircraft with jet engines, a maximum take-off mass not exceeding 4.5 tonnes. Around the world today series produced only four types of very light jet aircraft, Brazilian Embraer Phenom 100, U.S. Cessna CitationJet/M2 and the Cirrus Vision SF50, Japanese Honda HA-420 HondaJet.
While the Phenom 100, CitationJet/M2 and HondaJet can be attributed to the very light jet stretch, since their maximum take-off weight of slightly more than 4.5 tons.
Stratos Aircraft is developing a very light jet in 2008. Initially, the project was marking 714 and was less that made the first flight 716X. The first test flight 714 took place in 2018. Then the developers turned this project due to its unfortunate size — experts suggested that passengers would be difficult to comfortably sleep in the cabin.
The plane 716X made wider and longer compared to the base 714. The constructors assume that the interior can comfortably accommodate six passengers with hand Luggage. 716X got a jet engine JT15D-5, capable of delivering traction to 12.9 kN and avionics Garmin G3X.
The width of the cabin of the aircraft is 1.2 meters and a height of 1.5 meters. 716X airframe entirely made of composite materials. The aircraft is able to fly at the speed of 740 kilometers per hour. Other details about the aircraft were not disclosed.
During the first flight test pilot lifted the plane to a height of 4.1 thousand meters In flight was checked 716X handling and operation of all its systems and engines.
In the next few years Stratos Aircraft plans to begin mass production of the certified version 716X, which will receive the designation of 716. These planes will initially be sold only in the U.S. but then the company plans to do and their export.
Last spring, its first flight was made very easy the Polish jet aircraft Flaris LAR01, which is being developed by the company Master Metal 2013. Polish five-seat aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 1.5 tons. The aircraft is equipped with a turbofan engine Williams FJ33-5A, able to develop a thrust of up to 8.5 kN.
LAR01 will be able to fly at speeds up to 700 kilometers per hour at a distance of up to 2.5 thousand kilometers. The plane can climb to heights of up to 14 thousand meters. LAR01 designed to carry up to 4 passengers.
