Shenyang research and development aviation Institute, part of the Chinese aircraft Corporation AVIC, in 2021, will conduct the first flight tests of the new fighter. As writes the Global Times, most likely it will be carrier-based aircraft. The project also involved the 29th research Institute and the Corporation for production of electronics, ETC.
In the last couple of decades China has been actively developing its own aircraft. In particular, the country has already been developed, tested and put into service a fighter of new generation J-20 heavy transport aircraft Y-20, as well as carrier-based fighter J-15.
Presumably, in the new project Chinese aviation Institute, previously developed J-15, has been creating deck version of the fighter FC-31. In this programme, the aircraft will take a deep modernization with the replacement of onboard equipment.
The basic version of the fighter jet FC-31 developed by Shenyang Institute since 2010. According to official data, the plane could fly up to the altitude of 16 thousand meters. It is capable of speeds up to 2,2 thousand kilometers per hour, and its combat radius is 1.2 thousand kilometers.
The fighter can carry weapons weighing up to eight tons. The estimated service life of the aircraft is 30 years. FC-31 is created using technologies malosemenovsky. The developers claim that the fighter is invisible to radar stations operating in L – and Ku-frequency bands.
Earlier it was reportedthat the Chinese aircraft manufacturing enterprises have been developing two projects bombers in the construction of which will be widely used stealth technology. The existence of one of these projects — the H-20 or H-X — Chinese air force officially confirmed in 2017. On the second draft of reliable information did not appear.
