The USS stealth was first fired from artillery guns

Promising American destroyer “Elmo zumwalt” constructed with extensive use of stealth technology, conducted its first firing artillery. As writes The Drive, the ship held a test of the two stern gun launchers Mk.46 Mod.2 GWS. These guns were installed on ship more than a year ago.

The ship was built with extensive use of stealth technology, was named in honor of Admiral Elmo Russell Elmo zumwalt Jr., who led the naval operations of the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974.

Destroyer “Elmo zumwalt” can reach speeds up to 30 knots. He is armed with 20 launchers Mk. 57 VLS 80 missiles, two 155-millimeter cannon and two anti-aircraft guns Mk.46 caliber 30 millimeters. The destroyer will be based one helicopter SH-60 Sea Hawk and three UAVs MQ-8 Fire Scout.
